Roles and Responsibilities

    A brief summary of the role:

    As the Salesforce Release Manager, you will oversee the release management process for Salesforce platforms, with a particular focus on Copado. You will lead a Team of release professionals, ensure proactive communication and reporting, and drive the execution of release activities. You will also be responsible for governance, change management, and ensuring compliance with best practices and organizational standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Proactive Communication & Reporting:
    • Maintain open and proactive communication with clients, CFS, and internal teams.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on release status, progress, and issues.
    Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a release team of Release members.
    • Delegate tasks, set priorities, and ensure adherence to release activities and timelines.
    • Utilize team members effectively based on their roles and requirements.
    Platform & Release Management:
    • Develop and manage release calendars, landscapes, and release plans.
    • Drive and coordinate release execution, including handling P1 and P2 issues.
    • Act as a bridge between CFS and Client, ensuring smooth collaboration and communication.
    • Manage Copado pipelines, resolve merge conflicts, and ensure effective use of Copado features.
    • Maintain Salesforce ORG landscapes and develop release management roadmaps including Release Calanders.
    Governance & Compliance:
    • Establish and enforce governance frameworks and standards for release management.
    • Ensure all release activities comply with organizational policies and best practices.
    • Monitor and review release processes to ensure adherence to governance requirements.
    • Implement and oversee risk management strategies related to releases.
    Change Management:
    • Develop and implement change management strategies and processes for Salesforce releases.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth transition and adoption of changes.
    • Manage change requests, impact assessments, and communication plans.
    • Ensure that all changes are documented, approved, and communicated effectively.
    • Track and report on the effectiveness of change management initiatives and adjust strategies as needed.

Requirements

    Technical Skills & Expertise:

    • Possess strong knowledge of Salesforce ORG landscape, Azure DevOps, and Git.
    • Have hands-on experience with Copado, including Copado certification (preferred).
    • Understand and apply change management principles effectively.
    • Proficiency in service IT ticketing systems is a plus.

    Release Planning & Coordination:

    • Create, maintain, and execute detailed release plans.
    • Coordinate with all points of contact (POCs) to secure necessary approvals.
    • Ensure timely closure of deliverables and action items, and communicate progress to customers.

    Documentation & Escalations:

    • Maintain thorough documentation of release processes, plans, and outcomes.
    • Act as the single point of contact for handling all release-related escalations and requests.
    • Ensure proactive documentation and communication of all relevant information.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in Salesforce release management with a strong understanding of Copado.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce ORG landscapes, Azure DevOps, and Git.
    • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a release team.
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to maintain and close action items effectively.
    • Experience in change management, including developing strategies, managing change requests, and coordinating stakeholder communication.
    • Experience in service IT ticketing systems is a plus.
    • Copado certification is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of governance frameworks and compliance in release management.
    • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
