The client is a technology services provider that supports 11 Beverage Bottlers in North America, managing 95% of the volume and transactions of this brand. They provide a unified Salesforce platform delivering business processes, manufacturing solutions, customer service tools and data standardization across multiple independently owned companies.
Their Salesforce environment supports more than 15,000 users across business functions, locations and partner organizations. Maintaining consistent Salesforce availability is essential for daily operations in this high-volume, consumer goods distribution environment.
Salesforce issues three Major Releases every year, introducing platform updates that can potentially affect existing customizations and configurations. For the client, these updates carried significant risks:
A consistent, scalable regression testing framework was needed to ensure platform stability with each new Salesforce release.
CoreFlex was engaged as the client’s dedicated Salesforce Release Testing Partner, establishing a structured and repeatable process to safeguard all Salesforce Major Release cycles.
The solution included:
Regression Suite Development
We developed a Salesforce-specific regression test suite that covered the client’s critical business workflows and system configurations. This suite became the foundation for each quarterly release validation.
Salesforce Release Notes Analysis
Two weeks before each scheduled Salesforce Major Release, we reviewed Salesforce release notes to identify changes potentially impacting the client’s customizations, workflows and integrations.
Impact-Based Test Suite Augmentation
The regression suite was dynamically updated to include additional test cases based on identified changes from Salesforce’s release documentation.
Full Regression Execution in UAT
The updated regression suite was executed in the client’s Salesforce UAT (User Acceptance Testing) environment, simulating real-world business operations.
Defect Categorization and Resolution
Defects identified during testing were analyzed for root cause. Any critical issues introduced by Salesforce were escalated directly to Salesforce for resolution prior to production deployment.
Release Validation and Production Sign-Off
Once no critical defects remained, the Salesforce Major Release was validated and signed off for deployment into production, ensuring stability for end users.
The Salesforce Release Testing framework delivered key business outcomes:
By combining Salesforce platform expertise, proactive release analysis and disciplined regression testing, CoreFlex enabled the client to adopt a proactive release management model that ensures Salesforce stability without compromising business agility.
The result is a fully scalable framework that allows Salesforce to evolve while maintaining operational confidence across the enterprise.
